A Week with Huston Smith
Huston Smith  &  Gael Ohlgren

This week weaves together three different threads: evocative thoughts and reflections, inner practice, and (hopefully) lively discussion. In the mornings, drawing on his rich and adventurous life, Huston Smith will recount his friendships with the Dalai Lama, Aldous Huxley, Daisetz Suzuki, Saul Bellow, Martin Luther King Jr., Timothy Leary, Mickey Hart, and others. This sharing will include personal reflections on the jewels contained within the major religious traditions and/or the impact of pivotal thinkers and leaders of our times.

The afternoon sessions will take the inspiration of the morning’s conversation into guided meditations, seeking to integrate abstract ideas with a personal inner practice of awareness. Using breath, sound, and movement, we will be meditating with the body and opening toward sky mind. Gael Ohlgren, with her forty years of experience in somatic practices, will lead these sessions.

During evening sessions, the group will turn to questions and interactive group discussions. Please bring comfortable and warm clothing for the afternoon movement and meditation sessions.
